Best View: Cerro Santa Lucia, Santiago, Chile

Chile Lifestyle Santiago Travel

After spending a little over a month traveling through Chile and Argentina, at times sleeping inside the car, moving from town to town, and eating junk food, I need rest. A large city full of life, and amenities seemed like the perfect idea. The rapidly expanding city of Santiago was where I ended up. Nothing was more appealing to me than unlimited access to the internet, restaurants with good food, and a cozy apartment (where a hot shower and a comfortable bed weren’t an issue). Not to mention the markets full of goodies and Cerro Santa Lucia, Santiago, Chile (that has on of the best city views).

One of the best city views Cerro Santa Lucia, Santiago, Chile:

Did you know that Santiago holds one of the most stunning backdrops of any capital city on earth? On one side surrounded by the snow-capped Andes and on the other the Chilean Coastal Range. On a bright day when the smog clouds clear up, Cerro Santa Lucia provides one of the best panoramic views. Even though walking to the top of the hill can be challenging at times. The climb is very steep, and the steps leading up to the peak are old and uneven. Throughout the walk, take little breaks to catch your breath. Sitting areas around fountains and statues, serve as great resting spots. What’s also great about this location is admission is it’s free, climb away. I love saving money and giving tips to others on how to save as well, especially if you’re a tourist on a budget.

This metropolis was everything I had hoped for and needed. I will never forget the stunning views, trying to order food in Spanish at the restaurants, and exploring artisan markets.
